Investigators at MSPCA-Angell are trying to find the person who left a dog taped inside a box in a portable toilet in Brookline. A 22-pound female Corgi-mix, believed to be about 5, was found at 10 p.m. Thursday taped inside a box in a portable toilet at a construction site on Colchester Street. The dog was able to free her head and two front legs from the box. Angell Animal Medical Center staff evaluated her and said she was unharmed and stable, but frightened. The dog is resting at the MSPCA’s Jamaica Plain adoption center, where she will be held for a mandatory seven-day stray hold before making her available for adoption. The box in which the dog was trapped was for an O-Cedar EasyWring mop and bucket. The dog was not wearing a collar or identification tags, nor was she microchipped, which makes it all the more difficult to find an owner, the MSPCA said. Brookline police is leading the investigation and asks anyone with information to call 617-730-2730 or the MSPCA’s Law Enforcement at 800-522-6008.
