Natural Balance Pet Foods has bolstered its Feed with Confidence program by adding more test results on the company’s website, officials said in a statement. Pet owners can enter the product’s UPC code and lot number from the pet food package and view their product’s specific test results.
“The Feed with Confidence program pledges to provide consumers with products they can confidently feed their pets, guaranteeing they are getting the high-quality nutrition they deserve,” officials said. “Each batch of food and treats produced by Natural Balance is rigorously tested by an accredited laboratory, which ensures quality and safety in every bowl.”
In addition, Natural Balance has hired professionals in pet food safety, quality assurance and customer care roles to enhance and grow its brand.
Billy Slaughter, who has experience in product development, continuous improvements and food safety, has joined the company as director of quality, regulatory and research and development. Previously, Slaughter managed quality and regulatory affairs for Merrick Pet Care.
Cliff Grimes has joined the team as manager, quality and regulatory affairs. Grimes, who has experience in human and pet food production, quality assurance and food safety, will be responsible for working with manufacturing on food safety and quality assurance, regulatory compliance and making sure “only the highest quality ingredients” are sourced for the brand.
Jennifer Freeman, who has experience in the animal health and pet food industries, has taken on the role of director of nutritional science and customer care. Freeman has been part of the Natural Balance team for 16 years. She is a registered veterinary technologist with a master’s degree in animal nutrition.
