    (WFSB) – Finding food for your pet is becoming a challenge for many residents and soon the prices could go up. Wednesday Channel 3 spoke with multiple grocery and pet stores who say they have been experiencing shortages for months. When they order supplies, sometimes they aren’t sure what to expect inside. The limited supply is another effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Connecticut Food Association says the cause of this is due to staffing shortages in the trucking and transportation industry due to the recent spike in omicron cases.     Pet owners on the prowl for cat food amid supply chain issues

    LELAND, N.C. (WECT) – Many pet owners have noticed a new shortage lately, causing families to dig deeper into their pockets or venture out of their pets’ comfort zone. “Well, I gotta burn a bunch of gas or get on my cell phone and start calling around — ’Do you have this’ or ‘Do you have that?’” said Leland cat owner ALex Fulcher. “You know, it’s just kind of aggravating not being able to find it. I’ll probably go to three or four different stores.” Canned wet pet food seems to be hard to find lately, especially for cat owners.

    SANFORD, Fla. – It was a good day for the staff and volunteers at Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando in Sanford.     Ariel Ballman has for Persian cats. Feeding them is expensive enough, but she couldn’t find their favorite brands anywhere.   “Completely empty, sold out; there’s not a single can, a single bag.     Pet stores and owners feeling impact of pet food shortage

    SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – If you’ve gone to the pet store recently, you may have noticed the shelves are emptier than usual. Local pet stores, such as Paisley Paw, says they’re seeing the impact of the pet food shortage. Owner Robin Snelgrove said they’re taking their biggest hit on canned cat foods. Snelgrove has owned the shop for 7 years. She said the never had a problem getting pet food before the pandemic. “We have trouble with the canned cat food, the raw frozen food, sometimes getting that, and we have trouble with some of the dehydrated or freeze-dried food,”
