    Frankie the cat gets surgery with help from Animal Shelter Foundation

    Frankie, a tenacious 1-year-old, came to Tallahassee Animal Services (the animal shelter) as an injured stray cat with some obvious eye issues and a little unsteady on his feet. Despite needing to have one eye removed and limited vision in the other eye due to corneal scarring, the shelter staff quickly knew he would make a wonderful companion. His vision challenges require him to be an indoor only cat and his quirky way of moving is likely due to his mother’s exposure to a virus while he was in utero; it’s not progressive and he has no idea he’s so

    Animal Foundation encouraging individuals to foster shelter pets this holiday season

    LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Nobody likes to be alone for the holidays, including shelter cats and dogs. To bring some joy to these animals’ lives this holiday season, the Animal Foundation is offering a holiday foster promotion. From now through December 31, the shelter is inviting families interested in inviting a shelter animal home for the holiday to pick out an adult cat or dog to take home for a cozy, holiday vacation. The non-profit asks that all fosters commit at least a full week of care for their holiday shelter pet. The Animal Foundation will provide the animal’s
