    Meet Smuckers, a New Brunswick ‘hero’ cat who saved a baby bobcat’s life

    A domestic cat from New Brunswick’s capital city of Fredericton is being hailed as a hero after his blood donation saved the life of a sick baby bobcat. The wild animal was brought to the Douglas Animal Hospital late in the evening on Dec. 27 after she was found in a barn in very bad condition. “The cat was clearly not well,” said Dr. Nicole Jewett, a veterinarian at Douglas Animal Hospital. FabioVolu/Getty Frodo, the last surviving dog to be rescued from former NFL star Michael Vick’s dogfighting ring, has died at the age of 15 after spending his last 14 years being “pampered like a prince.” Frodo was one of dozens of pit bulls that went to animal welfare organizations after being rescued by federal authorities from Vick’s notorious Bad Newz Kennels in 2007.

    A video showing a cat’s hilarious lack of care for his own safety has gone viral online, amassing more than 900,000 views.
